your right I had posted that it was the most popular, got to thinking about it and it was the only V8 along with 2 -6 cyl. a 240 and a 300 I have a 67 with a 352 and I am sure that when I rebuilt the engine about 10 years ago I was told the 352 on the block was the engine size.
I have a 67 with a 352 and I am sure that when I rebuilt the engine about 10 years ago I was told (sigh) the 352 on the block was the engine size.
Someone was clueless (so what else is new?), as that info is in-correct.
The 352 is a foundry mark only. It will be found on many: 352/360/390/410 and 428's.
Why do all these blocks have the mark of 352 cast on them?
Because...ALL were cast as 352's, only when they were finished could they be something else.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 352 was the only V8 engine available for 1965/67 F100's and F250/350's.
1968 was the first year for the 360 and 390.
1968 was the first year the C6 was available in F100/350's. The C6 was introduced initially and used in passengers cars only 1966/67.
Unfort the motor/trans isnt original so it's all a crapshoot but hopefully the reverse thing will help.. thanks
Look at the shift tower, are there two protruding pins, one on either side that are used to retain the cap that holds the shift lever on?
If so: New Process 435.
The cap has two notches on it, MUST be pressed down on and held down while turning it 1/4" to remove it.
Most ppl haven't a clue, try turning it with pliers without pressing down, that tears the two notches out...now you aren't going anywhere.
In case you have the NP435, for future reference: B8T7220D .. NP435 Shift Lever Retainer Cap
I prolly sold 1000 of these in 35 years.

The Warner shift lever retainer cap threads on/off: 8MTH7220. I think I sold one of these in 35 years.
