that is how i do it.
Do not do it with the truck running,lol.
shut it off, time it, tighten it down and start it up.
Why not atf in the filter?

atf in the filter is fine but personally i like diesel kleen better because i noticed more of a difference.but i dump a quart of atf or diesel kleen in with every other fill up

more chatter the best advice i can give you is go take a first generation stroker for a test drive to get the idea of the sound

I am not sure, but i think the pitch is higher than the IDI.
I am a V10,460 guy and the 6.9 is my first non-gasser.

you cant get much more chatter and noise than mine produces, and Bill , the ATF is more expensive than Diesel Kleen so that is one, modern ATF has different properties than the ATF of old so that is two, and third are the friction modifiers that are in ATF, your IP doesnt need any of that, just good detergents, all in diesel kleen without the crap you don need.
