I have a '93 4x4 3.0 L Ranger with 184,000 miles. I need to add some Diff. fluid. I've done some research on the site and found that an additive needs to be added if the rear is a limited-slip. Question is how do I know if it's a limited slip? Also, a Haynes repair manual calls for an API GL-5 SAE 90 Hypoid gear fluid. My owners manual does identify a type of fluid. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the link. Turns out it is a code 86 - 3.73 non-LS. So I guess I don't have to worry about an additive - that's a good thing. Is the 3.73 non-LS a good rear or bad?
