What gets me, is for how many filters Fram sells, there aren't more complaints. It's obvious the quality isn't up to par with any of the other filters and yet I have no doubt they out sell everyone else combined.
I went to a Filtering Media Seminar put on by Baldwin Filters and Shell Oil 3 years ago and they were mentioning the same thing. Most people buy a NAME, not the Quality. Yet they mentioned, you would tend to think a lot of people would go off of price, yet Purolator, Motorcraft, AC Delco and the off-brand Pennzoil, STP and others are CHEAPER than Fram.
When I first started changing oil in my truck I used Fram and noticed the ticking sound and also low oil pressure. I switched to AC Delco and the problems stopped. That was enough proof to me something was up 16 years ago. Now I use Motorcraft in my truck and Purolator in my car and motorcycle.
We use Baldwin Filters exclusively at work.
