Trans Swap - C6 - OD
Just looking for some information at this time.
I have an '89 F-150 5.8L C6 Supercab Long Bed. Have been thinking about swapping in an OD trans. I understand there are several that Ford has used. Ultimately, I see a conversion to the later mode Mass-Air injection, so maybe that would be the time to do this and use the E40D?
If anyone has looked into this, I'd appreciate hearing about your findings.

Trans Swap - C6 - OD
I have not made this swap, but the extra gearset for the overdrive makes the transmission longer (the E40D is significantly longer). So you'd need to move the trans crossmember back, stretch the front driveshaft and shrink the rear shaft. The exhaust crossover pipe may be in the way as well.
This job would not be a project for the faint of heart.
