i dont know about the fuses but wiring it to your battery is cake.

theres a rubber gromet behind the carpet thats behind your break petal. run 2 10G copper wires from there up then over to your battery. id say the wires not running up your dash and into your outlet is worth the extra sweat by far

im not an expert but to me outside of the inconvenience of not having that outlet for the future sucks. as for computer problems ... i cant see what it could ever screw up.
but not having the seat belt dinger sounds like hell of a good thing haha

your owners manual should have a fuse list of where and what fuse you should need.

From the '05 manual...
#41 20A* Cigar lighter, Diagnostic connector power
If you are planning on direct wiring the radio don't forget to fuse both wires. The Pos.and Neg. being fused seems to SOP now 'n days (not so much if using a chassis gnd)

So you blew all of the fuses related to the power points?

On Edit:

#37 20A* Rear power point
#39 20A* Instrument panel power point

Should be the 3rd row up from the bottom and more on the right side of the box (the 1st and 3rd positions from right.)

Do you still have parking lamps? If not, it is fuse #6

If that Ohms out okay try fuse #18.
I was trying to trace back using a '05 wiring drawing package. The fuse number seems kind of blurry on the paper.
