I was having a fun day until I cut the bolt that was holding the tube steel bumper on my Jeep. The bumper fell to the concrete floor and bounced once and landed on my middle toe. The toe is turning blue.

Sorry to hear about your toe, were you working in sandles?

At least it didn't smack you in the bad knee.

Get well soon.

Doing steel work in sneakers is not the smartest thing I have done. Two purple toes to match my knee!

Rich, at least the bumper first bounced off the concrete floor, so the floor took the brunt of it. Obviously the concrete floor didn't take enough out of it.

You lucked out considering that the bumper could have first bounced off your foot and then struck the concrete floor.

Yes, I may have been lucky, but the bumper is a 2 inch x 8 inch 1/4 inch thick tube steel with 1 inch by 3 inch solid steel bar for shackles. It must weigh close to 100 lbs, the good thing is it has rounded corners. I didn't expect it to bounce, and didn't expect it to take off so fast when cutting the last bolt. That sure does hurt!!! I may have broken a toe or two. Not sure yet. What would the doctors do, splint it with tongue depressors and tape???

good evening everyone. I have been pretty busy lately with work and I am getting married tomorrow, so I haven't had a lot of time to come on here and chat. I am scheduled to pick up my truck on wed afternoon, when I get back from the honeymoon. Its been a long wait, but at least its almost over, and I hope to make it to a gtg sometime soon. Talk to everyone soon
