2002 EX V10 100k - new pads (front & rear) and dealer replaced booster, still very difficult to stop, could not squell the tires if wanted, the pedals goes about half way down and then solid. Any suggestions to improve the braking would be greatly appreciated
The ABS system should keep the tires from doing much squealing but it shouldn't let the pedal go half way down before applying force. I would start with doing the adjustment under the master cylinder. I don't remember where I found the write up for it, but basically there is a thread on the end of the brake pedal plunger which engages the piston on the MC. You unthread the bolt until it engages the master cylinder while driving and tighten it back in a little.
Then I would change the brake fluid. It's a hydraulic system, the pedal should push a piston which pushes a fluid which pushes another piston. The fluid absorbs water and water doesn't work quite as well as the right fluid, plus the change would also remove most any air in the system.
