Thinking about putting it in this weekend or next week! But i was looking for any pointers or tips or anything that would help me! I have never put one of these in before!
Also i towed home a skid steer today, first time i have towed a trailer with my truck and the trans temp was around 178, Is this normal, good, bad?
Did you watch the video on the Transgo website? It's actually a pretty easy install, just a lot more messy than you're led to believe in the video.
Mike had a great suggestion from when he did his about laying cardboard under the tranny to catch the fluid since it never quits dripping. Here's a link to his article on it https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...l-article.html
Most of us just remove one valve body at a time so you don't have to worry about those little check ***** above the plate. I'd make sure you have at least 4 cans of brake cleaner for the project and a good supply of rags. Read through the link, watch the video a couple of times, and by the time you actually do it, you'll realize that all you're doing is changing out some springs and such and it's really easy.
If you need help, give me a shout. I'll shoot you my phone number.
It's straight forward like Chris said. Just take your time, read over the instructions, and do one bore at a time so you don't get anything mixed up. That's what I did. Make sure you de-bur any holes you drill...

ya man it is supper easy. when i rebuilt my trans last year i put the tugger kit in mine. The insturction will keep you on track very well. and like Joe says just do one bore at a time and you'll have no problem.
Although you could take them all out at once but i don't think you would need to with your trans. Because my trans took a crap i wanted everything out of the valve body so i could power wash the parts, just to make sure there wasn't any junk in there. What i did was got a bunch of red cups and set the valve body on the table. then next to each bore i put a cup, and then put all the pieces from each bore into its cup. then i could thoroughly wash all the parts and still know what bore they went back into. I was afraid that if i did one at a time when i would wash the crap out of one bore it might get into one i have already cleaned and changed.
The other thing i kinda noticed that was nice was that once you complete a bore then all the old extra parts are being held in the cups. so you don't somehow get them mixed up with the new ones.
one last thing make sure you change the springs even if they seem the same. i would say that half of the springs i pulled out of the valve body were the same color and felt the same as the ones in the shift kit. don't chance it ya know....
The hardest part for me was the line reg valve in the accumulator valve body. I used a metal clothes hanger and just slightly bent the end to stick it in the slots and turn it pushing the valve out.
Good luck.
jus did the tugger kit in mine 2 weeks ago, went very smooth even though i didn't finish till 2 a.m. I also added a derale pan. It shifts sooo much better especially when pulling. like mentioned above buy plenty of brake cleaner and keep your parts organized.
