well i put all new battrerie cables on and cleaned the grounds on the block today cuz they were all covered in oil and grease now the truck turns over way faster and starts with out fluid but it still starts hard i checked the glowplugs with a test light they light up but are really dim could the relay be going out?
The dimness leads me to believe you tested for power at the glow plugs not if the glow plugs themselves are any good.
Did you follow the #5 post?
You need to test each glow plug.
There is also a connector between the engine harness and the chassis harness on the passenger side inner fender near the rear by the heater that has 6 or 8 wires in it, there are two large (orange I believe) wires in this connector that feed the glow plugs, that connection burns and fails.
When you check the glow plugs, the wire has to be off the glow plug.
If the wire is off, the relay is not even connected, so does not figure into the test.
On a 92, the large wires will be either yellow or tan.

I had to scroll back to the top to find 92.

Truck info in every post makes it so much easier to answer questions.
Three engines, two glow plug systems, 4 transmissions, 2 and 4 wheel drive make a lot of different possible answers.
