Need tranny Advice

After installing the DP Tuner and under hard acceleration, the transmission shifts extremely hard from 2nd to 3rd with a slight delay before shifting up. What would be the most likely cause for this?

Thanx... don't want to prematurely take out the tranny.

Reduce the shift pressure. Did you change the shift points or rev limiter with your DP as well?

No, I didn't request anything special with Jody in regards to tranny shifting. I know he automatically firms up the shifts and locks the TC better. I haven't been able to get the PCM reprogrammed for the bigger tires which, if I understand correctly, affects transmission shifting and ABS function somewhat.
Can I take it to a transmission shop for them to reduce line pressure? Or could it be the solenoids acting up?

Why can't you make adjustments yourself with your tuner? I can adjust shift pressure with my SCMT, surely the more advanced DP tuner can perform that function as well...right?

Nope, DP's not a programmer it's a pre-programmed chip woth a shift on the fly controller....

Surely there must be someone on here that has tranny experience....

Gee thanks...

Why don't you call up Jody at DP and see what he says? I doubt it is the tranny itself since it didn't do it prior to you putting in the DP tuner.

Wasn't meaning any disrespect Ken, but you were pointing me to programming which I don't have access to...

Jody's been away so I haven't been able to contact him but I did do a search on the 7.3 forum and Springer Pop seems to have a good explaination of what the problem is. The accumulator valves get worn out and can cause irratic shifts. The reson I probably didn't notice it before (other than the slow shifts), is because I wasn't putting enough power through the tranny to have it come up hard like it does at times. It only happens at WOT... other than that it shifts good.
