Allright heres a question for all you guys running 18'' wheels and 20'' wheels on their superduties, my truck is 02 supercab f250 v10 automatic with 3:73 gears it also has a 2'' levelling lift, got the stock 16'' wheels with 235x85x16 right now and they look cheesy, I would like to move up to a 18 '' or 20'' wheel having trouble deciding on best overall size, truck will be used for hauling quad and or camper, travel trailer once in a while, my tire choices were bfg all terrains or toyo open country m/t now the issue here is should I run a 35x12.50x18 or 33x12.50x20 or 33x12.50x18 I dont really want to swap gears what set up would deliver the best overall performance for my driving situation, also if you have any pics of simillar sizes can you please post them thanx.
Stick to an 18" rim... cheaper to by the rims and replacement rubber for down the road. I have factory 20's and the rubber was insane. I went with the Toyo 35" x 12.5" Open Country MT's and I wish I would have just bought some new 18" rims and tires. Also if you plan on buying bigger tires make sure the rim supports the recommended width for the tire specs. Make sure the backspacing is sufficient as well or you will have rub issues.
I wouldn't go bigger on a V10 without gears, and if you do don't go over 33s. 18" max for anything under 37s unless you want it to look like a mall crawler.
