I don't know much about the van turbo, could someone elaborate?

Is the van turbo useless with out sticks?

 

I wouldnt say its useless. Ask Joe (Izzy) about his. I think his next step will be sticks and hes got the Van on there now...

 

I feel it is still an upgrade over stock. Lowers EGTs, reduces compressor surge, and sounds cool, too. It may be a bit more "laggy", but will "light up" and take off. Sticks will just make more efficient use of it.

 

It's definitely not useless -- it drops EGTs on the top end drastically! I went from being able get over 1500 to mostly below 1300. And the 6.0 I/C should drop it even more. It does make it possible to utilize the larger injectors more fully, but it's not a requirement. That said, I think it would be more balanced if you just go with a 1.0 exh housing instead of the 1.15 A/R on van turbo if you're keeping stock injectors.

 

Just go big and get some sticks, LOL.

 

I am having a van turbo installed next month. Sticks are in the plans too.
