Thanks for the reps, everyone!

Those PDFs are from the Ford Workshop Manual DVD for my truck. I have the same DVD for the early 03-04 6.0 too. I'll gladly sell it for $20 or so, if anyone is interested, since I no longer have my 2003.

If you still have the DVD I would be interested. Just bought a 2004 6.0 F350 with 192000.

Once again why this site is the best, Big help with changing out the water pump. I removed the rad mounts but left the rad and lower hoses in place.

Thanks Again

So I am replacing my water pump. I purchased one from builtproof diesel. Is there any kind of sealant I should use in conjunction with the o-ring?

No sealant required. Lubricate the o-ring a very small amount to keep from pinching/cutting it when you install the pump and make sure the sealing surface is clean.

Be sure to check the water pump cavity in the front cover for cavitation erosion or impeller contact. If it's worn or damaged you may have overheating issues because the coolant won't flow right.

Hey Fixxer upper great thread.I used your info to remove my trashed pump and you were right on the mark.If I may add two things they would be make sure you have a bar on the end of your rachet to unload your serpintine belt also to put a wrench on the big fittings on the trasmission cooler lines.Mine were put on by a gorrilla. Thanks for the other posts as it made my job much easier......
