My sons 2007 2.5 diesel has exactly the same symptoms, like a fan belt squeak but more of a chirp / more metallic.

Does this engine have a similar sensor and do they have the same issue?

Before looking at this thread I had a listen to the noise. I thought it was more the front, possibly water pump or pulley tensioner.

I assume temporarily loosening / removing belts might be the best place to start, to see if noise continues.

What is the timing belt interval ? I found 75k on another forum.
