I've got a 2004 F-350 6.0, 60,000 miles. The truck idles rough sometimes it also surges while driving at a steady speed. A couple times it has just shut off, but it always starts right back up. Should I change the ICP sensor and harness ? The engine has a build date of 08/2003, is this sensor located on the back of the motor? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Diesel Rookie.
You are on the right track. The sensor is on the back of the HPOP cover under the turbo.A PITA to service the first time.I access it from the drivers side parallel to the exhaust up pipe with a 27mm socket with a swivel and 18 or 24 inch extension. The heat shield removed makes the job easy.
OK guys, I have been reading about the notorious P2285 code and have a few questions. I have a 2004 F250 6.0 (88,000 miles) and the CEL recently came on. Took the truck to the shop and had the code read; guess what, P2285. Now for the questions....
The truck runs fine with no surging or noticeable issues, could this code have anything to do with my recent switch to synthetic oil? I only ask because of the timing. I changed the oil from dino to syn, drove it to the shop to have the ball joints replaced, and drove it home. The next morning I started the truck and the CEL was on.
My factory warranty is out; however, I was reading that this part was covered by the 100,000 end of the warranty. Is this component covered by a "different" component of the warranty?
