What is the difference in COP's?

What is the difference in COP's?
I have an 07 5.4 and Motorcraft indicates that I need part number dg521. As I look in prior years, the dg511's are predominant. Can anyone tell me what the difference may be between COP's other than voltage? I have also been looking at performance COP's but have yet to decide on that route? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

There can be differences in cops. I had picked up some used cops for free once, and when my truck needed one I tried to install it only to find out the connector plug would not plug in. The cop had wider spade terminals than the wiring harness had.

I just have concerns that I see on EBAY, COPs that say they will work on 05-07 5.4, the part number is DG 511 but accoding to Motorcraft it takes a different part number. I may be a little ole fashion as if you put in a colder or hotter plug, you paid consequences with either unburned fuel or burned pistons and valves.....
