As far as I know, the closest pull is over 100 miles from me this year.
Would I like to try a pull, you bet.
But looking at it logically, that would get rather costly if I broke something.
100 mile tow bill before I even started fixing my dailey driver which would be down till I got it fixed.

I am young enough that I want to do all these crazy things, but old enough to realize there are consequences for my actions.

Looking through the DHRA rules I would have to install a clutch scatter sheild and driveshaft loops before I could even pull.

Everything is easy when you have money to burn.

Last time I tore my driveline up the bill was about 900 dollars.

This year that 900 is going toward new fenders and doors with a new paint job before it is going to repair something that can be easily prevented.

Remember the line, " Ya gotta be ready to pay if you want to play".
That line is very true at truck pulls, mud bogs and drag racing.

As you get older, you start thinking about other places you would rather spend the repair money than for stuff you just broke.

When I hit the lotto, I promise I will be the first truck in the gate at several truck pulls, drive hours looking for a dyno and all the other stuff I would like to do and you all would like to see me do.

But until then, I have to play it safe and not take chances breaking stuff just for the fun of it.

I must be getting old because I've been thinking about that since I first started driving.

Diddo on the doors and fenders. At least one of each will be replaced this year with steel aftermarkets. The other two will hopefully be replaced with composites for absolute corrosion resistance. If that goes well, I'll also build a new box, tailgate, and so on.

If I hit the lotto, I'm buying a solar collector big enough to power a small neighborhood, then convert all my vehicles to electric, or diesel/electric for the long haulers. Then I'll leave all my lights on at night and still make money selling surplus power to the utility company. My own little way of saying "bite me" to the rest of the world.

Maybe after all that, I'll consider building a competition truck, but I don't know if they would build I have in mind....
