$10,000 engine?
Is it possible to spend that kind of dough on a engine rebuild?

oh heck yeah... try blueprinting and building a stroker... if you need to send it away for any machine work, 10g's could end up being a down payment!!

The 460 looks good. I have never rebuilt an engine so I was a little shocked at what the guy wanted.
Hey, Fomoko could swap this engine for that Chevy motor in his Roadster.

Oh yea, I saw that as well, The owner may have put that kind of money into it, but I wouldn't expect him make $10000 on it.
I'd rather go for the Ford Racing 514 Crate. ford $8000 Then again, I'd rather build my own, may cost more, but I'll get what I want.
Ford Racing 514 Specs:
Has Eagle® H-beam connecting rods M-6200-C514
625 HP @ 6250 RPM
600 ft./lbs. of torque @ 4800 RPM
9.8:1 compression ratio (nominal)
Sturdy 460 2-bolt main short block M-6009-D514
Cast nodular iron 4.300" stroker crank
Ford Racing forged aluminum dished pistons with full floating pins
Mechanical roller lifter camshaft with .647" lift, 254° intake and 258° exhaust duration @ .050" lobe lift
M-6049-SCJB “Super Cobra Jet” aluminum cylinder heads
M-9424-H429 “Victor Jr.” single plane intake manifold (requires Dominator carb)
1.73:1 ratio aluminum roller rocker arms

HI and welcome aboard Eagle460. What is your Manitoba location?
No problem spending $$ on an engine, my 390 is mostly stock except for the 428 crankshalf which I already had, cost over $3,500 with all new internal parts and balancing.

Yeah its pretty crazy how much a guy can spend on a motor. The stroker I would like to build someday is gonna cost alot too. Will have oodles of power though, and I will robably only build an engine like that once.

I think Marlon would have to go a little heavier than that. Maybe a 10.25 rear or Dana 70. Of course with big tires too!

Older stock engines must cost a pile to rebuild.
