Custom dash in progress - build thread
I made a dash for my 79' f100 using the basic principal as you have shown in previous posts. But, I used the C.D. player spot for my 3 gauges; Fuel, volt, and temp. The middle dash i have a 5'' tach and a 4'' speedo using "ford racing" gauges from Auto meter gauges, i also have the L.E.D. HI beam light and blinkers. on the left hand side i have the head light switch and the wiper switch on the bottom and on the top left hand side i installed an aftermarket vent, I tapped into the floor duck side and have the 3'' vent on both sides and I'm in the process of making a bigger better glove box, and cutting away and fabing the area by the temp controle and the three gauges so i can install the double din dvd/navi system. So thats another way you can go for the dash. I'll upload a few pics when i figure out how to upload pics.
Brian.

If you contact them..please let me know, what the outcome is.... I met the President Greg Wambold, at the Car show here in Scottsdale Good Guys Car Show...he was a really cool guy...and I informed him that all 73-79 Ford F100 up to F350 were interchangeable Dash's as well as just about everything else....I also let him know that he would need to do his own research to make sure that what I told him is correct..I told him dont just rely on my information...
He told me that it takes a lot of Money to make one Dash...then once its done and he can mass produce them..then he can bring the cost down...his main concern was Will people buy them for thier trucks...meaning is there enough business to invest in making one mold...then mass producing them?
Well if a lot of people were to contact him about making a Dash for the Ford 1973-79 Trucks...It may give him the incentive that he needs to start producing them....and that would in my opinion be very cool...for those of us who would like that type of option

All in all I have over $15,000 in my truck, and that is just Performance parts in Reciepts...All the Labor was done by me and a few friends here and there, I made good money 2 months in a row...and Dumped it into the Truck, Paint and body work are not done, and it really doesnt matter to me, because when I turn the key...It starts everytime....I have the Painless 21 Curcuit Wiring system...I dont know about Painless..but back in 2003 it was for me...now they ( Painless ) has it down to a science, and have perfected it, I would definately suggest Painless or if you can afford it ...Maybe ISIS .....I have a complete list of every single part on my truck, somewhere on Word, If you would like Ill find it and email it to you...Not for bragging rights...but to help those who are interested in Reliability of Performace parts, and what works!
I was told by SEVERAL people in Utah and in Arizona, that what I wanted to do with my truck would never work, so I did the research and found out they were full of B.S and only wanted to make money off of me, instead of offering to be supportive or basically general support....Knowledge it seems back in 2000 was something you had to pay for...This Truck started out a Straight 6 Three on the Tree. We have owned it for about 22 years know.
I was told that I could not put a 302 Engine in the Truck or Make it Overdrive, they said it would cost too much to change Motor Mounts and to move the Tranny mount..then I would have to Drill into the Frame, Get a Tranny cooler, Remeasure the Driveline and have one custom built...So I said ok, no problem thats what Ill do.....I OWE about 100% Credit to my Friend Named Kevin Speck, he was the one that told me to buy the Parts I wanted and he would help me put everything in.....I talked to him for a few months about my plans...then ....he about had a heart attack when the Delivery truck showed up at his work, and he actually saw that I was very serious, and everything was being unloaded to his Bay.....We got started right away, and we Had the old motor and Tranny out and the new 302 and AOD in hooked up and running in about 4-6 hours
For the Wiring Brian Bridgeman helped me understand more than just the basis...and Russel ( Dont know his last name ) Is a Tranny Wizzard, and he dialed my tranny in to perfection...So these 3 Guys I Take my HAT off To...Sincerely Terry
So I would just like to share any and all of my knowledge, to help others, and this site has been incredible for people's willingness to share what they know, that to me is what Hot Rodding is all about. Feel free to contact me if you would like a complete build sheet on my truck, or if you just want to talk....I probably should update it and put it in my Gallery....I just hav'nt yet
Have a great day Terry
