Yeah Pop, thought of that but the added throttle didn't make sense for a CPS

Mine did exactly the same when my IPR went out with the exception that I could get it running enough to drive home, but it ran like crap. I did have to hold the pedal on the floor to make it crank.
well it started doing this yesterday and i was able to keep it running long enough to get it home. but today it wont stay running. what does ipr stand for?
If you're up for it here are some instructions on removal and cleaning. http://www.dfuser.com/Install%20Guid...0Regulator.pdf
I didn't have any luck with cleaning it, but many have. Bob (Guzzel) sells them or did and is very reasonable and very fast service. PM him here or contact him through diesel orings.com. Link in my signature.
I had to jump it off and have the throttle to the floor. It ran good for about 1 minute then started dying. Then it died even while revving it up to about 3000rpm
Sounds like the IPR or at least that's the way mine did. Try cleaning it if you want, or get the codes read if you want to be sure. I looked at Bob's site and he is out of IPR's at the moment.
