i need a set of bed bolts for my 66 f100 short bed can anybody tell me where i can get a set or can anybody tell what size and type they are and if i can get them at the local fastner store .
I use 7/16 24 stainless steel or galvanized carriage bolts with corresponding nylocks.
Available at any good bolt supply other than Home Depot or Lowes.
You need to measure the distance on the cross members, add in the frame thickness and order them based on 1 inch longer. Also there are two hidden standard bolts at the rear valance that bolt through the frame and valance but not up through the bed.
I did the same as Garbz did; use SS carriage bolts. Don't remeber the lenghts; but the front two near cab I beleive where longer than the two others sets. (SWB) truck has two less than long wheel base. Also just used hex head nut & bolts on the two mention under the rear of bed near end of frame.
Thanks Bill; I'll hopefully write down those measurements / sizes for future use. I'm lucky to remenber my name more less than all those numbers you got stored.
