Just wondering what you guys are running in your tank???? I have a 2005 6.0 with about 65k on her. I have not been adding anything but thnk i should start. I have been reading about Diesel Kleen...... Any recommendations???? Thanks in advance.

DK gray in summer, white in winter and run B-10 year-round. Some guys run TCW ashless 2-cycle oil. Others add ATF, a search will give you hours of reading pleasure.
Diesel Kleen - grey in warm weather / white in cold. It's readily available at places like Wally World. I've noticed a minor MPG improvement but mainly use it for the added lubricity and cetane boost. Here's a link to an additive study that shows the different brands and ranks them, so to speak.
Got it from the VW TDI forum under the Fuel Economy thread. A lot of interest, info and successful results from VW diesel guys adding very small quantities of acetone to diesel fuel. You add 2 to 3 oz. per 10 gal. of fuel. Suppose to significantly improve fuel vaporization by reducing surface tension betwen the fuel molecules, therefore, leading to very complete combustion. Makes sense. Work great in gassers, just add less.
Also, Google "Acetone Fuel Additive" and read all you want to know about the subject.

Im not sure I would feel comfortable adding it to a diesel vehicle???/ after reading through alot of the articles, one gentlemen with 7.3 seems to say he lost mileage.I use diesel kleen white/grey depending on season, and b-20 in the summer and b-5 in the winter.

You are right. Some people did loose mileage but I believe it depends on the quality of diesel fuel and gas you use. Appears to work better with top tier gas such as Shell and Chevron. Probaby will not yield as good results with bio diesel. From what I read the best results are obtained by starting out with low amounts and working up to the max recommended amount or trial and error. Some get good results using a little, others a lot and some none at all. It probably depends on injector design, i.e., how will the injector vaproizes the spray pattern. From what I read about the science, the acetone would make the injectors spray pattern more efficient and, therefore, lead to a more complete combustion.
Just some food for thought.
I'm going to give it a go in my X and VW TDI. Will post my results as soon as I have them and encourage others who try acetone to do the same.

Has anyone tried it?? It seems to risky for 10,000 for a motor!!
Acetone has less btu's then diesel. So no milage improvement. It might clean up the injectors or fuel system. It is a great cleaner but does nothing for lubrication. Acetone is used in most all injector and fuel system cleaners including diesel kleen. Atf is not designed to be burned although it might add lubrication the effects of it burning I would think would negate the lubrication benifits at least on a 6.0. Diesel kleen is a great cleaner but is not that great for lubrication. The diesel kleen is also less as far as btu's then diesel. I use wally world ashless two stroke oil I use 1 quart. to a tank I have not noticed any mpg increase but I also haven't lost any. Cetane is not really a bounus for diesels in warm to hot weather it actually reduces mpg. Do a search diesel kleen is not that great of a product stadyne is a lot better but 2stroke oil is by far superior if you are trying to lubricate the injectors
