TorqShift Life Span

A copy of the 4R100 thread, but still relevant. Some tell me their TorqShift is great while others say they are terrible. What do you all think? How many miles? I've got 51,000 on mine. It shifts real strong with a nice pop into 2nd at 4,000 RPM with the Diablo.

I love the one in my 06, I've got 50,000 on mine and no troubles. Keep up on service and get them flushed every 30K miles and they should last a really long time. I love the way it shifts, its smooth and quick with no hesitation every time even with 35's.

Subscribing........

I had 105k on mine before the truck got totalled. Not really enough miles to say it's bullet proof, but it was doing great up to that point.

the 05 and up is different than the 04 on below so there may not be enough history to say how far it will go.

FX4 5.4 Im assuming so, im not sure what all they do when they flush it.

92f150I6: that sounds like his driving/towing method. prolly not using the tow haul and/or getting the trans hot as hell.

I like the tranny. I had 55K on mine before this:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...hift-case.html

They fixed it and now I have 2K miles on my tranny.

It seems like it should last a long time, except for the problem they have that affected mine. Now that the problem is remedied, I expect it to last a long time.

FWIW, mostly normal driving with about 1/5 of those miles pulling a 7000lb 5th wheel.

Maybe, but they also have a 99 and 2000 V10 superduty utility bodies with the 4R100, towing the same trailers and have 180K on the origional trans.
