Howdy all,
I need to replace the 3rd member of my '72 9". I have the opportunity to pick up a complete rear end from a '65 T-bird. Aside from the gear ratio, is everything else the same? I.e. differential housing. I'm not concerned about the axle housing as I'll be using the one from my truck, but the fellow I can get the rear end from is questioning whether or not the truck rear end is 'beefier'.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Don
I believe the difference is in axle splines some 28 some have 31.
and bearing size.can you get the tag info of both rears and post it
we can decifer it for you.
