Hey everybody,
I'm still putting the 4.9 liter straight 6 back together in my '87 f 150 after the head gasket change...its been awhile and I tried to label everything but sadly Ive gotten to the point where I don't remember which way this piece goes in... I looks like it just sits in there somehow...there were no fasteners...at least I don't think it was attached with any thing. Its not in my manuals...so in other words, help!
i think it goes on top of the fuel injectors but maybe it goes between the exhaust manifold and intake?
But I just don't know where it goes...I completely forgot! Anyone know?
Here' a couple shots in progress...
If any one knows and could tell me where this heatsheild (?) goes I would really appreciate the help...thanks again!
they were separe nuts on mine you had a bolt that went in to the manifold that had threads on both sides of the head of it i belive it was a 10mm and then the shield goes on held by nuts aloong with a couple of wire clamps atleats thats how my 96 was
Thanks again, Im pretty sure when I took it apart I was surprised that it just kinda fell out ...but that was all I remember...thanks Ill see what i can make of it!
Well the heat shield slipped in there real nice...thanks for the help...I'd love to see more pictures of your 4.9 engines...complete and under the hood or in progress, I could use some visual clues as to how to make it look as good as I can...thanks again!
