Please help..transmission

Ford F350 super duty. Never any issues. Driving today and vehicle surges, feels like trans goes in and out of drive and Neutral, doesn't matter hot or cold. Could clogged trans filter be possibility? No previous trans slipping.
any suggestions would be helpful.

when was the last time u had the trans fluid/filter changed ???

i'd start by pulling the dipstick and viewing the fluids color/smell...

u sure ur not low on fluid right ???

Since you have a '99 you should have the 4R100 trans. I would start with a fluid change and filter replacement. You can do the service yourself. Your torque converter has a drain plug that you can access. I always install a drain and plug in the pan when I drop it the first time.
