When I got my truck, the wheels looked like this. One of the wheels seemed to be a silver color(argent?).The rest were rust colored. The right rear wheel is the silver one.Would my truck have come with the bright dog dishes?
Yes. Argent is french for Silver, but is also the name of the color Ford painted their wheels, bumpers, or anything that got silver paint.
And yes the argent painted wheels got the bright hubcaps, Although I do not have a picture of them.
They are listed in the brochure under wheel and cover options, as Hubcaps-Bright (Custom)

I have the 1980 Brochure, and under Custom it lists argent hubcaps, but no Bright. At the end of the brochure it lists Deluxe wheel covers, but there is no reference to the color or style. This has always confused me.Looking at the Tu-Tone options section,I see that the truck with the deluxe two tone paint option has full size hubcaps that cover the whole rim,but the truck with regular two-tone(second color on roof only) has what appears to be dog dish hubcaps.Would paint option have anything to do with the hubcap choices? And could the purchaser of the truck choose between the large hubcaps and dog dish style hubcaps?
