I got my poor truck in the shop right now for the HPOP hoses. Had an oil leak so got it fixed the tech tells me I have an injector code on the number 5 start it up surges and runs like crap. She run fine when I tool it in too. Is 1100 to much for an injector and should I change em all ? And why did it happen suddenly like that?
If it ran fine when you went in, then it should run fine going out. By changing the HPOP hoses, the tech is going to introduce air into the oil rail, and it will probably run rough for the next 50 to 100 miles. A single injector should cost around $200 for the part, and no more than 1.5 hrs labor.
H may have also knocked the harness loose at the valve cover.
Techs said it had no power when he started and engine light was on could be we had to pull start it cause the starter blew up when a piece of the housing fell into the starter just bbaaaaaaaaaaaad week its 500 for starter plus gasket and labour. Enough work done to make me think bout adding a cold air intake lol its at 400 000 k is it worth it

Ya canadian eh lol Starter was warranty work only 3 months old. HPOP hoses and labour was 1100, 225 a hose and 75 a fitting. Plus oil change which drives me crazy, first one I never did. And just to change the injectot and what they say a specil gasket is gonna be 1100 as well. Sucks that I don't have time to get dirty right now got to ship the Grande Prarie. ALberta not texas lol
Sounds to me like you need to get that poor truck outta his shop. I wouldn't pay more than $500 for a new injector installed. Then again, I'd probably buy a good used one and swap it out myself.
