I asked this question in another thread without any results. So I thought I'd try in it's own thread. I have an 09 Expy Eddie Baur, with an axle code of 15, the only chart I could find listed a 14 and 16. 
Can anyone help with this?

2008 Expy...I've read that the 3.31 plus the 6-speed tranny is all you need for max towing. True or false? I think I'd want the 3.73, but I do not see 3.73 as an option anywhere online.
I see HD trailer tow in the list of options available on the 08 Expy, but I do not see an 3.73 in the list. Was 3.73 available at all in the 2008 ?

I thought so too, which is why I ask the question. I'm looking at a 2008 Expediton with HD trailer tow on the window sticker, and axle code '15' on the door sticker. I asked the dealer on the phone for the axle code and he came back with '15'.

HD package can be had w/ 3.31 or 3.73 on a standard length expedition.
