remove return line at pump
disable engine so it will not start
put end of return line into 5 gal bucket
crank engine while someone else keeps fluid topped off, and makes sure excess spits into bucket. Do this until things come out clear.
so did you lock the tires and slide in?
I would pull one line and see if the fluid drains out of the pump or line when you are cranking the truck. If it comes out the line you got the right one, if it comes out the pump you got the pressure line.
yo man glad your ok love the pic! 36 quarts mmm , thats at least $100+ right?, wish i could of been in the truck with ya, see what you cant do to chevy's? ha
yea I completely locked up all 4 tires and slid on into it.
that weekend 6 trucks sunk in that hole. there was one chevy that was of 44's and had a custom 16" lift and he swamped hit truck in the same hole. my truck was framed out in that area. the hole was 12ft deep.
i have a new idea on how to change the fluids in the pump: would a hand pump work? pump fluids out, stop and run the truck, pump some more?
well we put 6 quarts through the system and its still coming out milky. we took both lines off the entire system. im tempted to just let the steering run with it but i know its bad.... im just gonna see how much more money im gonna have to put into it for everything to work.....
i need an estimate from everyone. ive pumped 6 quarts already, how many more should i need to go through. im tired of driving my dads truck back and forth all the way into town and back
I would get that tranny nice and hot, the way it is. Tranny's can get over 200 degrees easy that'll boil off any moisture in there. Thats what i did, we took a tranny out of the junkyard, put it in a taurus and it wouldnt move. We dropped the trans pan and it was a block of ice. We thawed it and ran it and it ran fine. The fluid was pink and we let the customer take it and it was fine. In a month we flushed it out. I dont know if I'd go a month but i'd definatly run it. good luck it my .02

Sorry, didnt see that you fixed the trans already, maybe i can just give you confidence in it. I'd run the p/s too then change that in a week or so of driving
