gauge problem on 85 E350

I had some work done on my motorhome: flushed radiator, oil change, ETC. After all that it started overheating. we thought it had something to do with the work that was done but we tested it with a separate gauge and found out it actually wasn't overheating. The gauge was just reading wrong. Then we noticed the oil pressure was reading high and the gas gauge was fluctuating more than normal. We changed the sending units to the temp and oil gauge. still nothing changed. I am thinking it is a regulator but was told the only regulator was on the alternator. does that mean the alternator is about to crap out? I just need some guidance thanks.

There is probably an Instrument Voltage Regular (looks like a relay with two snap attachments) behind the dash, but, usually the problem is just a worn ignition cyl. switch.
