Ok, Ive done some searching on the instrument panel voltage regulator, but if it was bad wouldnt the temp gauge not work right as well? Right now only my fuel gauge doesnt work, and I just have fuel and temp for gauges. 1971 F100.
Sounds like your gas tank sending unit could be bad. Try this quick test. Turn ignition either to the acc or on position, pull the sending unit lead and ground it. If you see the needle make a full sweep when it is grounded, your sending unit is bad. If it doesn't, you may have other issues. I'm sure some of the others will chime in and offer other suggestions. Hope this helps you find a starting point.
Ok, I did that and as soon as I grounded it the gas gauge went to full. I will be ordering the sending unit from Mac's next week I guess. Thanks for the info.
