Hello out there. I have a 2000 F-250 7.3 with 198k the problem it has is the #4 push rod is not moving the valve. My question is could the cam lobe have broken, this is not possible is it? I am use to gasers. It is like the lifter is not touching the cam lobe thus not moving the push rod and not letting #4 fire. Any ideas?

 

Check to see if the pushrod is bent. If so, swap it out and you're good to go.

 

I pulled it and it is fine. Not bent and the rocker not worn very much. My son turned the crank and I tried to see if the lifter was moving the rod. It like the cam is gone on that valve.

 

That sucks.

 

What does a used oil lab analysis tell you? It's less than $25, and will tell you if the oil's full of iron (along with a bunch of other things) or not.

I'd start there. Blackstone Labs is what a lot of us use. Google 'em.
