For as long as I can remember, I've had this problem with my driver's side door....on the first attempt to close, it catches (such that it doesn't come open again) but not completely, leaving a slight gap, I then have to open it and close it again, with a bit more force to shut it completely....
Is there an adjustment that can be made to the latch to stop this....or is it something that just happens with age? (1967 F-250)

The latch itself cannot be adjusted, the problem prolly lies with the striker plate.
Right and left are the same, 1967/72 is the same.
I forget what the striker looks like, but some can be adjusted, you can also swap the right to the left to see if that helps.
Another cause is the door itself, it's prolly sagging a bit...this is age related.
Old used car dealers "trick" to correct sagging doors: Park the truck on a hard level flat surface, take a five foot or so 2 x 4, lay one end on the ground, the other end on the door sill.
Gently close the door till it just touches the wood, then give it a slight push.
Now try closing it and see what happens, repeat as necessary...then tighten up the hinges. DO NOT loosen the hinges beforehand.
