Howling on Deceleration
Hey guys...I have a 76 F150 4x4 that I recently put new rear axle bearings/seals in (9 inch rear). Now, I have a howl that is really noticable when slowing down and get's louder when i apply the brakes.
Any ideas on what would cause this? I don't recall hearing it before, and I'm sure I installed the axles correctly.

Howling on Deceleration
Hi, other than a bad gear pattern, the most common thing that causes that is loose pinion bearing preload. I would check to see if the pinion nut has somehow backed off.
