What was the ending here. I looked on sams club website and they are no longer available. I am going to get a camera and I dont know which ones to get?
You can get most any day/night weatherproof camera and make your own setup. I got a camera for $16, 30' of camera/power cable and plugged it into my Pioneer DVD player. Works great. There's a ton of LCD displays out there but finding a decent place to mount one is the challenge. I got a 10.2" LCD/RearView Mirror thing that worked great but ended up replacing my factory radio with the DVD unit, mostly because I'm a bit OCD about factory look. Still have the mirror monitor if anyone is looking...
I ended up coiling a few feet up with my short bed crew cab.
A few notes about my installation... I put the camera into the bumper, just left of the license plate and below the spare tire hole. This gives me a good rear view but I can't see the top of my hitch. I guess I got a little ahead of myself and drilled the hole while I had a chance to borrow a 1 1/4" step bit and a 1/2" drill. After a little bit of testing I found the best location to be between the hitch and the 7/4-way plug. I want to fab a bracket to fit to the right of the plug arrangement, with about 10 degrees of back tilt to mount the camera in. This would give a perfect hitch ball view but does take away a bit of the overall rear view. It's all in what you need to see. Even where mine is I can hook up trailers soooo much easier now. The camera listed above has a couple angled mounting rings so you can adjust it's perspective from a flat hole.
This is awesome thanks Ken, How long have you had it installed? No problems I am assuming. I guess it is not biggie if you did have a problem, just buy a new camera. That is cheap. I am going to order right now. I was going to buy one for 50 bucks and I thought that was cheap. Boy was I wrong, my wife tells me that all time I just never listen. Maybe I should listen. NAAAAA

Hah, I understand totally. I see something I know I think I need and believe I should have it tomorrow. Then the research side of my brain kicks in and I usually over research everything. I deal in video surveillance and know cameras and figured this cheapy camera wouldn't do well but what the heck. It does great, considering. The night vision is not bad either.
