AC Vacum PUMP
Hey Now,
Great site, been lurking for a while and posted on the welcome page. I have searched and believe to understand that I have a Vacume pump problem. All of a suden I can not change the air off defrost, and I need to find out where to purchase one? Is this called the AC Vacum PUMP? I checked with Oreilley's and their looking at something that is belt driven
Thanks in advance.

Fill out your signature so we know what you have...
But, I will have to assume you have a diesel. It is not a A/C pump, or a heater pump. It
is just a vacuum pump that moves the vents..
It may not be bad at all... When you turn the key on (dont start the engine), does the pump run? If it runs thenyou have a vacuum leak that will have to be traced down.

Sorry, I had it in the post and took it out on revision.
It is a 04 F250 xl long bed with super cab. 6.0 Diesel. Funny thing is last night I went out there and tapped the pump a couple times, turn the key on and listened for it to work, I never identified that it is was what is making all the noise under the hood but I cranked the truck and switched from OFF to head and it worked fine. Im not sure what is going on.
Thanks for any advice. I will put my vehicle in the signature area.
