I recently added r134 to my depleted a/c system(used r12). Before the clutch would not come on until I straight wired it to battery. After adding a couple cans of freon on it now comes on every 5 seconds for a second or two. What's going on? What should I do next?
Technically no, but what I did was take the cap off the low side and pressed the needle and hardly anything came out. At that point my clutch wasn't engaging at all. Now that I've added some refrigerent with oil additive it at least comes on briefly and stops. I want to do the right thing not to have trouble down the road so what do you suggest. Entire new system? What parts are needed? By the way thanks your response.
