I purchased a fx4 screw that did not come with running boards. Was looking at the chrome boards found on the xlt. Any recommendations for aftermarket to look at instead or just get the chrome 5" round (i think that is what they are). Thanks for any opinions or help.
bronco I have the same basic truck you do fx4 screw with the 6.5 same color ahhhhh... nice truck. Have you considered the n-fab three step model. I am not sure if cosmetically it looks that great but I don't have a side step and it could be handy. Just wondered your thoughts. Thanks for the help I'm liking it.
I'm not a fan of the chrome step bars, oem or aftermarket. I live in northern indiana and the chrome ones tend to pit after 3 years. I've had that problem on the last 3 trucks. I've been thinking of going to the molded running boards on my 06 E/C.
Still a fan of Ford black platform RB. They don't rust, flake, pit. And they stop SO much spray mud and stones. And they stick out nice and far so most cars can't give you door dings.
Thanks for the input guys. Still trying to decide. I feel as though the look of the truck can be altered so much with the wrong or right boards.
I FULLY agree. I've been following this thread trying to decide which ones I want. I've been half tempted to fabricate my own, but even then I'm not sure what style will make the truck look bad@ss or FUGLY...
I like the n-fab but its hard cuz all the pictures I see are of fairly modified trucks. I wonder if with 33's and a 2 leveling kit that will be enough for the n-fab to look good. I also wonder if the third step will look dorky on the bars. Sure would be handy though as I didn't get the man side step. I called so cal trucks in the Inland Empire and they quoted me 475 for black 6 step.
