460 belt lengths

Anyone know off hand, or know where I can find out what length v-belt I need for my '78 big block? It threw the alternator belt tonight at the drag strip, and the water pump/power steering belt is in sad shape. Made it about 10 miles to a friend's place without the alt, where it sits now. I can take the old wp/ps belt to the parts store with me to match the size, but the alt belt was destroyed.

Never mind, I didn't realize they could look it up at the parts store!

Another techinque you can use to approximate belt size is to use a piece of rope, like clothes' line, and run it in the same pattern as the previous belt. That should get you pretty close to what you were running before.

Don't forget to buy two belts when you head to the parts house!
