1985 F-250 460 Belt Diagram & Belt Information

I have a 1985 F-250 460 with a 60 AMP alternator and air conditioning. One of the belts came off while driving and was chewed up pretty bad by the fan. The truck is at my friend's house about 40 miles and I need to buy parts to take out this weekend to repair. I don't know if I have 1 or 2 Air Pumps. I am new to wrenching on trucks and have a number of questions I was hoping someone with more knowledge could shed some light on:

1) A belt diagram for all the belts;
2) If a 36 vs. 38 degree angle makes any difference for the belts??;
3) Proper width of the belts (either .375"/.410"/.44")??;
3) What or how many belts I will need to purchase (from what I can tell, I believe I need to buy the: (A) Alt to A/P Belt or Alt to A/P to A/P Belt, (B) Alternator Belt; (C) Fan to Power Steering Belt; (D) Fan to A/C Belt).

Any help would be very much appreciated. The other posts I checked out were not of much help so I am hoping someone new or someone with new information could be of help.

THANKS!!

I looked at autozone, too many choices. You say you have a 60 amp alternator. According to them it could be a;

15330
15455
15380
And that's just the alternator belt. You are going to have to go see what you have and then go back to the store and get it. All the numbers autozone lists start with a "15" except one that is out of stock. They don't say what it's for but it's a "17" belt. The 15 is a 15mm wide belt. 13 is another common smaller belt that is 13mm wide, but not listed for your truck. The "17" belt is a 17mm wide belt.

If you can't read the numbers on your belts you can measure them. Take the belt off, make a mark on it, and then take a tape measure and measure all the way around the outside of the belt till you get back to the mark. For example one of the belts in the list above is "15330". That is a 15mm wide belt that is 33 inches long. The "15455" belt is a 15mm wide belt that is 45.5 inches long.

Some manufacturers list their belt numbers backwards. In other words a 15330 belt will be listed as a 33015 belt. The 15455 belt will be a 45515 belt.

If it was just one belt, cant you just take that to the parts store? unless its cut into 20 pieces, they should be able to match it no problem, if I remember I'll snap a pic of mine and post

The belts themselves should have identifying numbers on them, see if they're still readable.

Gates has a great tool on their website.
'Navi-Gates'

They used to insist that the pair of belts to the power steering needed to be a matched set.

The numbers on my truck are;
Alternator 7375 (11A0955)
Power steering/Water Pump 7541 (11A1370)
A.I.R. Pumps (this is a NAPA belt) 25-7455

Hope this helps.

I bet the 7375 is a 37.5 inch belt. That's not the same but pretty close to the 15380. The 7455 may be the 45.5 inch belt. I can't figure what the 7541 is.

So this is my setup

At the engine working to the front of the truck (so back to front)

I have 2 belts that go around the crank pulley/water pump pulley/power steering that belt is 7541

in the middle I have a single belt going from the crank pulley to the alternator that belt is 1140 (at least what my eyes can make out)

to the front is the A/C belt, I don't have that one yet but have no idea what it is bit it will go around the crank/waterpump/ac compressor

I googled "belt 7541" and it said the outside circumference was 54.75 inches. 1140 is a 14 inch belt.

"1140" is probably 11A0-955...

My truck did not come w/AC, but the Gates website has all the belt numbers if you care to look.

I'm sure, this little exercise made me realize, its time to change some belts Either the belt is old or my eyes are going, and for my ego, I vote the belt has to be changed

I have an 85 motorhome with a 4 beltnset up and can't find a belt diagram and it sounds like we have the same belt drive set up.
Could you please send me a diagram of the belt locations if possible.
thank you
