I'm about to install a new center bearing and support on my '71 F250
Upon removing the old bearing/support I noticed that the bearing was the same on both sides meaning it wouldn't have mattered which way you installed it. The new support only has the large rubber lip on one side. Does it matter which way this one goes in? On the carton for the new bearing/support it shows two figures for installation and the support being installed with the lip goint either towards the trans or towards the rear. I would be inclined to install it towards the trans as it will be far easier pressing it on this way.
