Ok so this is basically to pick Eds brain because i think hes got or built one of these. My basic question at this point is how to get a 60 front it that big turd. I got a real good deal so ill explain. It was advertised in the local bullitein board. 1978 Bronco 351/4spd. It has a 4" susp lift and a 3" body lift( which will ultimatly burn in hell) the rears were pulled and all the gears, bearings and seals replaced. Every single part of the braking system replaced and all the bushing replaced bumper to bumper. Its really solid for a WV Bronco. The only downfall is its missing the tailgate and back seat. All new parts in teh last 8 months. I gave $350 for it. ITs giving up the new parts to my 79 F-150 DD build. SO i have a 460/c6/203/205 going it. So Ed spill the beans how do i get a 60 in there? I dont want to use the factory style "C"s and radius arms.
The last one I built and the new one I am building for CJ both used the stock style radius arms and coils.
The blue one pimps 42' IROKS with a 435/205 combo. D60F (chro mo, all 35 spline) and a 14B FF. Detroit in rear and a Power Lok up front. 5.13's make it fun. Its light with only a cab cage, no tailgate and never a top.
Not too tall, and runs fair.
How do you plan on running your front axle? Coilover might be in the works for Cj's truck. She does not know the difference, but I want her in style you know?
She is getting a stoker small block, aluminum heads, roller, blah, blah.
Radius arms are not so bad.
Go check out cage offroad they have solid axle swap brackets. Its a bracket that welds onto a dana 60 allows you to use 66-79 bronco/f150 coil springs and their trick radius arms. Its listed on there web site for $745.00. Here's the link CAGE Offroad Products na / na / na
Personally i just used the factory C bushing style stuff.. I took the "C"s off a 76 F150 axle(because the trac bar bolt is part of one of the "C"s) spent some time with the grinder and welder to get them to fit without any spacers.. than i made some radius arms. My original arms
But i broke them, so i rebuilt them into these.(the one on the right..)
