Bill, as the resident parts guru have you ever seen one of these?
I replaced the 361 FT engine in my 1975 F-350 Tow Truck with an early (66) 352.
This is the original bell housing from the 75. I've never seen a FE bellhousing with the "ears" for mounting like this one has. I checked it with my sons 61 Uni and it fits the crossmember for the 61 perfict. If these arn't to rare they would be a good way to put an FE in an early ford that used a Y-block. Just wondered..........................
I know this is an old thread, but does any one know if that bell housing would bolt in place of my C5TZ 7505 C bellhousing? If it would, it would be simple for me to swap a 5 speed Clark into my '66 F250 4X4.
Correct. If the mounting points were the same, it would be a piece of cake.
What is that hump where the starter goes into for? Did the FT's use the same starter as FE's?
1963/76 3 hole starter (C3OZ-11002-C) same for FE's, 144/170 I-6's (except P100's). FT starters different part numbers, but use the same starter drive, armature, brushes.
