like all have said, hook it and pull it, you'll be amazed what 444 cubes of international diesel expertise does in a Ford. Arguably Ford's best ever diesel, you have a keeper, Yours should be a forged rod engine, capable of 400 hp easily with mods and a decent life span. Later engines switched to powder metal rods, and have grenaded at high modification levels much sooner than the forged engines. First mod recomendations - pyro, boost, and voltmeter. These engines like good batteries/ alternators. A voltmeter lets you monitor all 3 major reliability issues in real time as you drive. Get an a-pillar gauge mount and a gauge kit. If you do mods later you should definitely have them. Boost gauges are more of a non issue, shows when the turbo is working and can be used as a judge of economy, but otherwise won't show you anything that can trash a high $$$ engine like the pyro will or a high $$ trans like the trans temp, or leave you stranded at the lake - like a dead battery.

Definately, the a pillar gauges are in the top 2 of my first mods. intake and exhaust is the other. I actually enjoy the power now, but I would always want more. Thanks for all of your kind advise
