So I tried to search but couldn't find it.
The problemm with my AC. I will turn it on to Max AC and it will work for about 5-15mins and then it will just blow luke warm or hot damp air out after that.
If I turn it off and then let it "rest" for a little while and turn it back on it will do the same thing again. I have noticed on the highway that if I have the RPM's around 2k that it will blow cold air for longer and can last for up to 25-30mins but it seems like it will eventually blow warm again. I had the system completely recharged at the end of last summer but it did the same thing then also.
I remember reading about adjusting or taking out shims in the AC compressor, but can't remember if this was to fix I need to do.
Any advice needed, when friends ride with me and my wife I always feel bad if the drive is longer than 30mins.
I thought that was the HPOP. Is it high up on the engine?
Sorry for the noob questions. I know close to nothing on Powerstrokes
On top of engine. Serpentine belt goes over top of compressor pulley. That pulley free wheels until the AC clutch engages locking the pulley and spinning the compressor to build pressure. It is right behind the passenger side of the coolant overflow reservoir (commonly referred to as the degas bottle).
The HPOP is under the fuel bowl.
I was once a newbie myself. Absolutely no apologies necessary. Asking questions is how you will learn, and we at FTE are willing to teach.
Okay.
Thanks Payson.
It's the same part, I just thought it was the HPOP.
I will get to it on monday using the thread posted above to hopefully fix the problem.
