I NEVER have enough room in the cross bed boxes and they are really easy to break into...SO...I got a JoBox at the local industrial supply house. They have this same size at Home Depot and Lowes...think it's the Greenlee brand. Itook mine and cut off the lower stringers thah were meant for the wheels to attach to. then cut each corner; and swapped the cut pieces to the other sinde ...INSIDE the box and welded 'em in. when all done I went and had it Rhinolined. Super secure with @ Master combo locks (set your own code) Check it out ..lemme know what you think!Name: Pictures2015.jpg

I really like my Truck Trunk Ultra (sig) but I see from looking at a few websites that they may no longer be available. The low profile makes aligning the gooseneck trailer a lot easier.

Mine is a 2'x2'x5' box. I kept the 2 outer legs the wheels bolt to, ditched the center leg, cut the corners for the wheelwells and shortened it 4". Still needs paint and I may take a bit more out for the wheelwell so I can build a headache rack. Ill get better pics if antone is interested.

For me, not losing bed space was a need so I can haul multiple dirt bikes. I found a "half" width low profile that was perfect for me! It sits just under rail height and since it is only half width, I can still nose my KTM all the way into the corner. My wife's little TTR still fits on the shortened side since it is an 8' bed.

It also makes hauling 8' lumber easy - at least half a trucks' worth!

Ah, so it's not just shallow, but narrow too (not bed width)? Interesting, thanks.

I've got the 28"x18" Silver Toolbox from WeatherGuard. It's very roomy too... my dad has the next size smaller and while it's a nice toolbox, it'd be hard to fit everything in it. I have a 5 gallon bucket loaded with my cleaning supplies that I can fit standing up in my toolbox, but I doubt would fit in my dads. All in all, it's a great toolbox!

BTW, that's my dad's '08 F-250 XLT in the background. It's a 6.4L, 4x4, LB, CC... not a bad truck.

I had a custom made box built for my truck, it fits between the rails, under my tonneau, its wide enough for a 6 foot jack, shovels, genny cords, small compressor, tow strap, chains, oil, gas, coolant ect. I had a guy custom build to my measurements for it to fit exactly the way I want it. It cost less than a box at a store . I have it set up I can unbolt for access to the whole truck box, but have never had too. Can haul lumber, to the dump, a box full of rock, no problem. Also have a way to secure my genny to it for camping trips, ussually fill the rest of the truck box with firewood most trips.

I'd love to see some more pics of it. I'm gonna post some more of my Frankenstein box just so everybody else gets a better idea of it in case they want to build their own.

Here are a few more of my box after being done for awhile. I also built the storage stacker. It lets you store milk crates and they slide in and out. They stay mostly dry under the top.The top "basket" was built with some scrap expanded metal and 1" angle. It helps keep the small stuff from rolling around in the bed. It comes out in just a few minutes, since its bolted to the bed with a few 1/4 x 20 carriage bolts.Name: pics1312010005.jpg
