My tool box has been dulled from the sun and snow and needs a good shine put back on, anybody do this? What brand cleaner and polish do you use. Thanks.
I like Mother's Mag and Aluminum and Wynol products. However we had a thread going a few weeks ago about cherry Kool-ade as a polish, and several people seemed to like it. Better Built had a polish (I think Discount auto sells it under White Diamond) that cleaned up diamond plate with the least effort.
A power ball, or Flitz/whoever's eqv would be a worthy investment for the project if you have a drill.
I like Gords Aluminum Wheel Polish Chrome, Cleaner, Polish & Sealer it works. But if you google moonshine aluminum polish you can get the recipe! So many people sell bottles of the homemade aluminum polish at truck stops its easy to get. But if you don't mind his price (get the small bottles) he ships fast and is a pretty cool guy to talk to if you have questions.

Just read the above mentioned thread about cherry kool-aid, also mentioned coke and mountain dew, and lots of other products. thanks
The ingredient in the drinks is phosphoric acid. You can buy phosphoric acid washes from most paint stores. I think Home Depot and Lowes carry Navel Jelly which is a phosphoric wash in gel form. Phosphoric acid will remove aluminum rust (yes, it can rust, the color of aluminum rust is white) and also brighten up the aluminum.
