Water Pump help!!

I have a '76 302 that the water pump went out on and I was wondering if the water pump from a '83-'84ish 351W will fit.
I have the 351W in my gerage waiting to be built and I need a water pump now but am a lil short on money for a reman or new from the local parts house. Just wondering this little question to save myself some money and hair pulling.

Thank you guys in advance!!

It depends on which waterpump your 1976 F100 302 has, because there were two different pumps used in 1976 on 302 F100/150's.

DOOZ8501C .. Waterpump

Fits: 1969/75 F100/150 302 / 1976 F100/150 302 before serial number B75,001.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D6ZZ8501B .. Waterpump

Fits: 1976 F100/150 after serial number B75,001 / 1977/86 302.

Fits: 1980/87 F150/350 & Bronco 351W.

The serial number is the last 6 digits of the VIN.

Not when it comes to 302/351W Ford Granada's and Mercury Monarch's.

D6ZZ8501B .. Waterpump

Fits: 1975/80 Granada/Monarch 302 & 351W.

The next question is...

What's the "83ish, 84" 351W from? Passenger car or F150/350, Bronco or Econoline?

I assumed it was from a F150/350. I SHOULD know better than to assume ANYTHING on FTE!

If it's also from a car, it may not be the same as the D6ZZ8501B waterpump, because...

1979 and later LTD/Crown Vic's, Mercury Grand Marquis and 1980 and later Lincoln Town Cars used a different waterpump for 302/351W engines.
